The World Zone Head Tournament Director IA Juan Martello (ARG) announces a new Open tournament, the World Zone Cup. It will be played in three stages, preliminaries, semifinals and final.

Preliminaries

 

Start date: August 31, 2019

Closing date for entries: July 31, 2019

Time control: Triple Block 600 days

7 players per section

Entry fee: via online store US $ 12 per section, your federation may charge a different amount

Entries unlimited per player

Section winner advances to semifinal, ties are not broken.

Semifinals

 

Start date: after the end of the Preliminaries

Time control: Triple Block 600 days

11 or more players per sections, according to the number of entries

Players with elo of 2200 or higher may register directly into the Semifinals with an online store entry fee of US$ 24 per section, your federation may charge a different amount.

Section winner advances to the Final, tiebreak rules in order: Baumbach rule, SB, results between tied players, number of wins with black, higher rating

WZ Cup Semifinals

 

Final

 

Start date: after the end of the Semifinals

Time control: Triple Block 700 days

Cash prize in Final: US$ 1000 (50% first place - 30% second place - 20% third place)

Tiebreak rules in order: Baumbach rule, SB, results between tied players, number of wins with black, higher rating

Norms available based on tournament category

Winner of the Final will obtain the title of WZ Grand Master
